Description
The flexible shaft coupling is installed between the marine gearbox output flange and the propeller shaft to reduce noise-generating vibrations from the engine and shaft system. At the same time, it protects the marine gearbox from continuous torsional vibration shocks. In the event of damage, the flexible shaft coupling protects the more expensive components of the drivetrain by acting as the first point of failure, breaking only in the case of an exceptionally severe impact.
