BELLMARINE TRANSFLUID HYBRID SYSTEMS

Transfluidin hybrid solutions

In the industrial markets, there has been a focus on developing new technologies to reduce the ecological impact on land and at sea.

The growing global awareness of air, noise, and water pollution caused by internal combustion engines has driven vehicle manufacturers to invest significant resources in developing hybrid systems for cars and small utility vehicles.

Due to the diversity of drivetrain solutions for industrial and marine applications, developing a standardized, high-quality, heavy-duty hybrid product has been challenging.

However, Transfluid has embraced this challenge and is ready to present a solution for low and mid-power range marine and industrial applications.

Decades of experience in electric and drivetrain technology

Transfluid has been manufacturing a wide range of drivetrain equipment, electric motors, and generators for decades. Leveraging its experience in thousands of industrial and marine applications, as well as utilizing existing technology, the company has developed a new generation hybrid system.

System operating principle

The hybrid system operates in three different modes:

  • Electric drive – allows for driving or sailing completely emission-free and silently.
  • Internal combustion engine drive – the electric motor acts as a generator, charging the batteries.
  • "Booster" function – the electric motor assists the internal combustion engine during acceleration, adding torque to the drivetrain.

How it works?

On the system's input side, there is a hydraulically or pneumatically controlled clutch.

When the clutch is disengaged, the engine is disconnected from the drivetrain, allowing the vehicle or vessel to move solely on the electric motor.

When the internal combustion engine is in use, the clutch engages, and the electric motor becomes a generator, charging the batteries when needed.

If both the internal combustion engine and the electric motor are running simultaneously, the "booster" function is activated, increasing the total available power.

All functions are controlled by Transfluid's proprietary MPCB-R5 electronic controller, which communicates with all system components via the CAN BUS protocol. This makes the system an easy "plug and play" solution.
